Geico Suspected Insurance Fraud
Geico’s perceived
deceptive practices to gain an improper financial advantage in charging
excessively high premiums, not justified by the risk or coverage provided, by
reporting unmerited claims as “At Fault Accident,” claims.
Please
review the experience that I had with Geico that incorrectly inflated my
insurance premiums for 3 years and have left an incorrect blotch on my driving
record.
I reported this claim to Geico ·
As RECORD ONLY on 11/10/2020 and ·
Uploaded photos of the damages Enterprise
Rental Car was claiming that were already on the vehicle Geico rented for me when
I picked it up at Enterprise on 10/16/2020 @ 4:45 PM. ·
At the time of pickup, during Covid, the
representative stated they were paperless and didn’t have a damage ID card to
provide to me regarding the pre-existing damages but insisted it was already
in their records. ·
I took photos of the damage to the car prior
to taking possession of it, including the mileage. I explained
to Geico my reason for reporting the claim was that they would be ware and not pay for the erroneous claimed pre-existing damages. They assured me they would not pay for the
pre-existing damages under my policy. |

The “Vehicle”
claim listed on this document is the RECORD ONLY claim I reported
to Geico as a result of the car they rented for me
through Enterprise while the repairs for the “Partial Theft” claim
were being made to my vehicle. |

Geico notified
me that they paid the fraudulent claim as a “not at fault loss” under
my Collisions coverage. I
understand Geico paid $9.55 to Enterprise under this claim. Apparently,
the adjuster felt it was easier to pay $9.55 and get credit for closing a
claim then disputing the pre-existing damages that may
have taken a little extra effort and not allowed the claim to be closed the
same day. Apparently,
insurance incentives and closing claim production requirements can have a
negative effect on good faith claim handling. |

Geico
reported the RECORD ONLY claim to CLUE as an “at fault
accident” resulting in INCORRECT higher premiums for the next three
years. |
